Statement on Jackson County Circuit Court Judge ruling on abortion facility license in Missouri

What’s Next responds to Jackson County judge ruling on facility license in Missouri:

“Today’s temporary court ruling on abortion is progress, but a far cry from any sort of win. What remains in our state is a constitutional right for government interference, and we expect no less from our hostile legislature. What’s left are bans against later abortion care, unending hurdles for young people who face parental-involvement laws, and effective bans for poor people because of the state’s insurance bans.

“Amendment 3 is not a win until the least-resourced Missourians can access abortion care no matter their age, income, zip code, gender identity, or insurance status. And we cannot celebrate a win until our communities are safe from pregnancy criminalization.

“Once again, we ask Amendment 3 leaders amid their celebrations what’s next in their work to address these marginalized groups?”
